Brian B. Burton's Guide WebCatalog
WebDNA Basics Advanced Topics OnSite Training WebCat Rants & Raves Other WebCatalog Links Site Feedback

Welcome to my guide for creating dynamic sites in WebDNA (the programming language of WebCatalog). If you are looking for "I just bought WebCatalog, and I want to build an entire store with extensive customization in 15 minutes by myself" this may not be the guide for you. If, on the other hand, you have some time to learn the basics, then this guide will get you through most of the tough stuff, and what you create from there will be limited only by your imagination...

One final note... this whole site exists because of my love of the simplicity of the WebDNA language. I was originally planning on writing a book and selling it, but this site makes more sense based on the installed base and users of WebCatalog. However, the site is not free. This site is DVD-ware. If you use this site, please send me one DVD off of my list for each person trained. I think you'll find this price agreeable, especially if you've seen the price of computer books lately!

Tip of the Moment:
The [date] tag doesn't work the way it should inside of a showcart command* or Orderfile context. Just deal with it.

* Shame on you if you're using commands anyway, you deserve all that ails you.
